Richard Anuszkiewicz was born in Erie, PA and attended the Cleveland Institute of Art where he received his B.F.A. Latter he studied under Joseph Albers while a student at Yale University. In 1964, Life Magazine labeled him the New Wizard of Op Art. His resplendent and illusory paintings explore the hard edge resonance that occurs when colors of similar values are juxtaposed. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally and can be found in numerous major public and private collections including The Art Institute of Chicago, Illinois; Hirshhorn Museum, D.C; Brooklyn Museum, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, Metropolitan Museum, Museum of Modern Art and the Whitney Museum in New York.
